President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine visited Sweden Tuesday for the first time since Stockholm officially recognized the state of Palestine in October, according to dpa. President Abbas was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Stefan Lofven and Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom. An audience with King Carl Gustaf was also on the president's itinerary. Sweden plans to discuss how the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process could be revived after elections in Israel in mid-March, State Secretary Annika Soder said.
