Othman said that allocations of Social Security rose from three SR billion in 2005 to about SR 13 billion in 2013, a growth rate of 331% with a high number of beneficiaries of the social security program from 387,000 beneficiaries to about 781,000 beneficiaries, an increase of 102.1% over the same period, at a time that more than a total of SR 100 billion has already been disbursed to the beneficiaries of the social security program. Engineer Abdullatif Al-Othman hailed Kingdom's preservation, during the reign of late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, of its independent status and membership in the Council of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and its occupation of the globally 8th rank in terms of voting power in the IMF among its 185 member States.
