Tunisia's outgoing president, Moncef Marzouki, defeated in the country's first democratic presidential election, said he will hand over power on Tuesday, in a move aimed at easing post-vote unrest, dpa reported. Beji Caid Essibsi, a former prime minister, won 56 per cent of the ballots cast in Sunday's run-off, while Marzouki received 44 per cent, according to initial results. The election commission has said it will release final official results of the vote on Friday.
