The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, shall arrive in the Republic of Sudan on Saturday, 27 December 2014, on a three-day official visit as part of the visits he pays to the OIC Member States. During the visit, Madani shall hold official talks with the Sudanese leadership and officials that cover bilateral Sudan-OIC relations and the means to support and develop them in all areas. The visit, the first by Madani to Sudan since he took up office as the OIC Secretary General at the start of 2014, shall provide an opportunity to both sides to exchange views on the priorities of the joint Islamic action and promotion of Islamic solidarity, especially in the present delicate situation of the Muslim World. Furthermore, the OIC Secretary General shall review the developments in Sudan and the wider regional and international arena at his meetings with the Sudanese officials.
