German exports posted a modest decline in October, while imports fell sharply, dpa cited data released on Tuesday as showing. Seasonally adjusted exports from Europe's biggest economy fell month on month by 0.5 per cent in October, but after climbing by 5.5 per cent in September, the statistics office Destatis said. Imports, however, dropped by a more-than-forecast 3.1 per cent in October - but also after a hefty more-than 5-per-cent gain in September. This brought the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to 20.6 billion euros (25.36 billion dollars) in October - up from 18.6 billion euros in September, Destatis said.
