German exports rose in March, adding to signs that Europe's biggest economy has recovered from a contraction at the end of last year, data released Friday showed. Exports were up 0.5 per cent, compared with February, the statistics office said according to dpa. The increase was in line with forecasts. At the same time, imports posted a 0.8-per-cent gain, which fell short of the 1.5-per-cent increase predicted by analysts. The seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed marginally to 17.6 billion euros (23 billion dollars) from an upwardly revised 17.7 billion in February.
