The Secretary General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue among followers of faiths and cultures Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar met with Sheikh Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb on the sidelines of Al-Azhar Conference on Confronting Terrorism, recently held in Cairo. During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual concern to the center and Al-Azhar were discussed. For his part, Sheikh Al-Azhar lauded the role the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was playing to consolidate dialogue among followers of different faiths and cultures and enhance the shared principles among mankind and achieve the world security and peace. He also lauded the role of the center since its inception to spread the values of tolerance, justice and peace and enable religious organizations and figures and cultural elites to play their roles in co-existence and understanding among the followers of religions and cultures. For his part, bin Muammar also paid tribute to the efforts Al-Azhar is exerting in consolidating the values of moderation and standing against using violence to spread religious beliefs.
