Organizers of the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang have been approached by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to move the sliding events outside the country for financial reasons, dpa has learnt, dpa reported. Sources said that the IOC has told organizers to stop construction and to have the bob, luge and skeleton competition at an existing Asian, European or North American venue instead. Such a move would allow organizers to save around 120 million euros. Pyeongchang organizers are facing financial constraints but a spokesman said the track, of which only 100 metres have been completed, was important for local athletes. -- SPA 23:40 LOCAL TIME 20:40 GMT تغريد
