Venezuela indicts opposition leader Machado over alleged plot to kill

Venezuela has indicted hardline opposition leader Maria Corina Machado for participating in an alleged plot to kill President Nicolas Maduro, the state prosecutor's office said in a statement on Wednesday, Reuters reported.
Machado, who led major street protest against Maduro at the beginning of the year, has dismissed the accusations as a charade designed to silence her and distract Venezuelans from a growing economic crisis.
