Philippines raises alert for typhoon Hagupit

Philippine authorities on Wednesday raised the alert
against an incoming cyclone, dpa reported.
Typhoon Hagupit was moving west-northwest at 30 kilometres per hour
(kph) towards the Eastern Visayas region, the same area devastated by
Haiyan in November 2013.
The cyclone is packing maximum winds of 140 kph and gusts of up to
170 kph, the weather bureau said.
