The ruling liberal-conservative Civic Platform party of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz has won eight of Poland's 16 regional parliaments, according to delayed election results released early Sunday, according to dpa. The elections on November 16 gave Kopacz's party the upper hand in all eight parliaments in western Poland. In eastern Poland, the conservative opposition Law and Justice Party notched its first electoral victories in seven years, taking six of eight regional parliaments. Voter turnout was 47 per cent.
