Members of the liberal-conservative Civic Platform in Poland have until Tuesday to cast their votes on whether the party's co-founder, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, would remain their leader as they face dwindling poll numbers and an election in 2015, dpa reported. Jaroslaw Gowin, former justice minister and part of the party's conservative wing, has challenged Tusk for the party's top post, which Tusk has held since the party split off from the then-ruling Solidarity party in 2001. The power struggle has been heating up in the past few days as the voting in the first ever election of a Platform leader nears an end for its nearly 43,000 party members. Tusk, 56, has written a letter to all party members, criticizing his opponent. According to Tusk, Gowin is abusing the election within the Platform to "promote a new party," still to be founded. It must feel like a trip down memory lane with reversed roles for Tusk. -- SPA 00:04 LOCAL TIME 21:04 GMT تغريد
