A mother and her 3-year old daughter were found dead in southern Switzerland on Thursday, police said, after their house was swept away by a landslide, dpa reported. The landslide was triggered by torrential rains that brought some 1,000 cubic metres of soil down from a forest the previous evening onto a traditional stone house in Cuiro in the canton of Ticino. About 80 rescue workers worked with search dogs through the night. They found the 31-year-old woman and her child early in the morning. Since the weekend, up to 300 litres per square metre have rained down on Ticino, the daily Blick reported.
