Torrential rainstorms triggered landslides and floods which have killed at least 13 people and left one missing in southwest China, the official Xinhua News Agency said Sunday. Up to 268 millimeters (10.55 inches) of rain deluged Yibin, a city in Sichuan province, between Wednesday and Sunday, Xinhua said. The deaths included five people who were swept away in a landslide which slammed into a residential community late Saturday, it said. Some 4,000 houses have been damaged and at least 2,300 people have been evacuated, Xinhua said.
