AlHijjah 28, 1435, Oct 22, 2014, SPA -- The number of subscriptions in the mobile communications services amounted to about 51 million ones at the end of the second quarter of 2014, where the percentage of the number of prepaid subscriptions reached 87.1%. Thus, the rate of the spread of mobile communication services at the population level is approximately 169.3%. In a statement today, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said that by the end of the second quarter 2014, the number of subscriptions in operating lines of fixed phone amounted to about 4.7 million lines of which about 3.3 million lines were allocated to housing units, representing about 70% of the total operating lines.
