50 million subscriptions in mobile communications in the Kingdom, 18.1 million Internet users, 4.8 million fixed telephone lines in the first quarter 2014
The quarterly electronic newsletter issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission revealed that the number of subscriptions in the mobile telecommunications services in the Kingdom reached about 50 million by the end of the first quarter of 2014, a penetration rate of 165% of the population. In its 19th edition which was released today, the publication said the number of Internet users increased by the end of the first quarter of 2014 to reach about 18.1 million users, with a penetration rate of more than 59%. Fixed telephone lines operating by the end of the first quarter of 2014 reached about 4.8 million lines.
