AlHijjah 21, 1435, Oct 15, 2014, SPA -- Hurricane Gonzalo is moving over the Atlantic Ocean toward the British territory of Bermuda, and U.S. forecasters said Wednesday the powerful category-3 storm could strengthen further in coming hours. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said Gonzalo had top sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour (kph) and was centered about 1,000 kilometers south-southwest of the British island of Bermuda. It was moving northwest at 20 kph early Wednesday. The government of Bermuda has posted a hurricane watch, urging islanders to monitor the storm's progress. Officials said flights departing Bermuda on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were fully booked. Authorities on some of the smaller islands recently it by Gonzalo say at least one person was dead and two missing when the hurricane swept through the eastern Caribbean earlier this week.
