AlHijjah 09, 1435, October 03, 2014, SPA -- NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg will travel to Poland Monday in his first trip abroad since taking over the reins of the military alliance, dpa reported. Stoltenberg will hold talks with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, newly appointed Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz, Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak and Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna, NATO said in a statement. He will also visit Lask Air Base, where NATO-affiliated airmen are involved in operations meant to reassure eastern alliance members that feel threatened by Russia. Stoltenberg, a former Norwegian prime minister, took over NATO's top post from Anders Fogh Rasmussen Wednesday. He has identified Turkey as another country he intends to travel to early in his tenure.
