NATO's new Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says the alliance needs more international help from the United Nations and European Union to secure and rebuild Afghanistan. Fogh Rasmussen says «NATO will do its part, but cannot do it alone» in Afghanistan. The ex-Danish Prime Minister took up his post as the alliance's top civilian official on Monday. Fogh Rasmussen says the alliance «must expand» its coordination with other international organizations and aid groups working in Afghanistan «to win the peace» there. NATO has about 64,000 soldiers in Afghanistan _ half of them Americans _ where they are struggling to contain a rising Taliban insurgency, according to a report of The Associated Press.
