AlHijjah 09, 1435, October 03, 2014, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Project for Raising Mataf (Circumambulation) Capacity was established due to a large increase in the number of visitors to the Grand Holy Mosque, especially in Hajj season and the holy month of Ramadan, within the framework of the largest expansion in the history of the Grand Holy Mosque. The project provides an internal surfaces for prayers and Tawaf (Circumambulation) that can accommodate about 279,000 worshipers or 105,000 circumambulators per hour. The total area of the project amounts to 160,000 square meters.
