The Kingdom's Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission and the Religious Research and Ifta Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh said today that limiting the number of pilgrims this year is imperative and urgent, citing the expansion works of the circumambulation area (Mataf) around the holy House of God in Makkah. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, he said the Mataf will accommodate more than 105,000 worshippers per hour after the completion of the current construction works. He urged Muslims planning to perform Hajj this year, but could postpone it to next year, to do so.
