Qa'dah 19, 1435, Sep 14, 2014, SPA -- The Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Irina Bokova has stated that the decisions taken recently by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to preserve the ancient cultural heritage, aims to raise the level of awareness on the kingdom's history. In a congratulation letter to Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) of the Kingdom on the occasion of the issuance of the Saudi Cabinet's decision on the approval of King Abdullah Project for Cultural Heritage Care, the UNISCO chief said: "This initiative aims to raise awareness on the Kingdom's protection of its archaeological sites and preservation of heritage, which includes ancient cities and to create, develop and ensure the optimum running of the Kingdom's museums."
