10 construction workers killed in Istanbul elevator accident

AlQa'dah 12, 1435, September 07, 2014, SPA -- At least 10 workers were killed during the
construction of a 36-storey building in Istanbul when the elevator
plummeted from one of the top floors, local media reported Sunday, according to dpa.
Istanbul Governor Hueyin Avni Mutlu, quoted by the Dogan news agency,
said the incident took place after normal working hours on Saturday
night.
Investigators would look into why safety rules had been ignored, he
said.
