AlQa'dah 1, 1435, Aug 27, 2014, SPA -- A sheriff's dispatcher said Wednesday that authorities are searching for a U.S. military jet that crashed in western Virginia. Augusta Country Sheriff's Office dispatcher Becky Coynter said that witnesses reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like an explosion just before 9 a.m. local time. Coynter said that authorities do not know whether anyone was injured in the crash. A Virginia State Police statement said that officials located the crash site, with heavy smoke coming from the side of a mountain. It said that state and local police were trying to reach the site.
