Manchester United upset by Swansea

Manchester United's new manager Louis van Gaal discovered the extent of the task facing him on Saturday as his side
suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea on the opening day of
the new Premier League season, dpa reported.
Gylfi Sigurdsson's second-half winner was enough to give Swansea
victory and leave Van Gaal scratching his head as to why his team
failed to perform.
United had been hoping for a good start after finishing seventh last
season but their defensive frailty was all too clear and they fell
behind to an early goal by Ki Sung-Yueng.
United were missing a host of top names including Robin van Persie
but Wayne Rooney equalized eight minutes into the second half and
from there, they would have expected to go on to win.
But Sigurdsson took advantage of slack defending to win it for
Swansea 18 minutes from time.
