Lebanon's former Prime Minister Najib Miqati met in Beirut today with outgoing Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Saeed Awadh Asiri who bade him farewell as his tenure in Lebanon is ending. During the meeting, Miqati described the relations between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon as excellent. He praised the Saudi assistance worth $1 billion extended by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for Lebanon's army and all security forces to face discipline-breaching parties, and to combat terrorism and Israeli attacks, considering the gesture as yet the best evidence of the Kingdom's keenness to preserve Lebanon's stability and security. For his part, Asiri said his visit is part of a farewell tour of senior Lebanese figures citing Miqati as one of the sharers of good relations Saudi Arabia.
