Two days of fierce battles between the Lebanese army and Syrian militants in a border area have killed at least 10 soldiers and wounded more than 25 others, dpa quoted the Lebanese army as saying on Sunday. Army commander General Jean Qahwaji revealed during a press conference that 13 troops were missing and were "possibly being held prisoner" by the members of the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front. The clashes in the town of Arsal on Lebanon's border with Syria erupted on Saturday after the army arrested a Syrian man named Imad Ahmed, with suspected ties to the al-Nusra Front. Qahwaji said the attacks on the army in Arsal were "premeditated."
