Nine Syrians were killed and nine wounded Saturday in a Syrian army air strike on an area in eastern Lebanon, reported Lebanon's official National News Agency, according to dpa. A Syrian army aircraft fired a missile at a gathering of refugees in the area of Khirbet Dawad, east of the Lebanese city of Arsaal, which is home to thousands of Syrians who fled fighting at home, said the report. Arsaal lies 12 kilometers from the border with Syria in a mainly Sunni Muslim area that supports rebels fighting forces loyal to Pesident Bashar al-Assad. It was not the first Syrian army attack on Arsaal. Saturday's attack was the deadliest. Rebels in Syria have seized three ammunition depots near Damascus after overnight clashes with loyalist forces, a pro-opposition watchdog group said. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least one rebel was killed. -- SPA 22:08 LOCAL TIME 19:08 GMT تغريد
