Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, who spent a year and a half in Germany for treatment following a stroke, is due to return home Saturday, dpa reported. The 80-year-old Kurdish politician fell ill in December 2012 and was transferred to Berlin for treatment. Talabani became Iraq's first Kurdish president in 2005. His return to Iraq will come just a few days before lawmakers are due to elect a new president.
