Secretary General Ban Ki moon on Monday expressed his sympathy for the victims of the latest attacks carried out by Boko Haram in northeastern Nigeria, and deplored that the violence occurs on a daily basis. The U.N. chief's office was commenting on attacks in the past two days on villages and churches near Chibok, the village where over 200 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram. "The secretary-general reiterates the readiness of the United Nations to support Nigeria as it responds to this challenge in a manner consistent with its international human rights obligations," said Ban's office.
