Britain, Hungary alone in opposing Juncker nomination

Britain and Hungary were the only two EU member
states to oppose Jean-Claude Juncker's nomination as the next
European Commission president, diplomats say, according to dpa.
"I've told EU leaders they could live to regret the new process for
choosing the commission president," British Prime Minister David
Cameron wrote on Twitter ahead of the decision, adding, "I'll always
stand up for UK interests."
Luxembourg politicians welcomed the news that their former prime
minister was nominated. EU Commissioner Viviane Reding said the
commission would be in "safe" hands, while Prime Minister Xavier
Bettel wished Juncker "congratulations and good luck."
