The General Secretariat of Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned campaigns of violence and oppression against the Muslims of Sri Lanka waged by Buddhist militants against them in the cities of Alwashgama and Berwala in the south of the country. This came in a statement issued by MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki in which he said that Muslims all over the world have expressed the pain for what has been reported in the media and international news agencies about bloody criminal violations claimed the lives of dozens of innocent Muslims in Sri Lanka, calling on Sri Lankan government to take action to protect Muslims, eliminate oppression against them, stop campaigns launched against them by extremist Buddhist groups, and achieve justice between the components of the people of Sri Lanka.
