The governing body of United Nations' International Labour Organisation (ILO) has elected U.A.E. to the board of directors of ILO's International Training Centre (ITC-ILO), based in Turin, Italy, during a recent meeting in Geneva as part of the ILO's 103rd Session of the International Labour Conference. According to WAM, UAE Ministry of Labour said U.A.E., as a member of ITC-LIO, will represent the Asia -Pacific Region which includes 54 countries alongside India, China. Through learning and training and providing related services that develop human resources and institutional capabilities, ITC-ILO contributes to achieving ILO's goal of decent work for women and men and assists countries in their social and economic development. The board of ITC-ILO is composed of 24 members appointed by ILO's governing body: 12 government representatives, 6 employers' representatives and 6 workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the centre's board. U.A.E. delegation to the ILO conference, organised between 28 May-12 June in Geneva, was led by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour.
