Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has confirmed his country's interest in promoting the communications and information technology sector since early, citing his ministry's adopted plans to activate privatization program aiming at upgrading the national economy's efficiency, increasing its competitiveness ability through liberalizing the market of services. In a speech before the participants in the Global Summit on Information Community, organized by the International Communications Union in Geneva from 10 - 13 June in cooperation with the UNCTAD, UNESCO and UNDP, he highlighted the developmental efforts of the Kingdom through providing government-supported wide-range audio-communication services as well as internet services in all remote areas.
