Island is located at the territorial waters of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arabian Gulf and enjoys great attention of many researchers, fishermen and diving enthusiasts for its unique environmental constituents allowing it to be the mother island for more than 20,000 birds that used, during these months, to visit it within their journey from the North Pole toward the South Pole. Jana is surrounded by turquoise water, located 45 kilometers far away from the north-eastern city of Jubail, and characterized in comparison to its Saudi counterparts by its oval with a length of 1050 meters and a width of 300 meters. It relaxes with its white sands on the Gulf waters between the islands (Gareed) and (Karan), one of the five nature reserves Islands of the Kingdom with (Careen and Harkous), which include the most important natural biotic communities in the Arabian Gulf. Those five islands are part of 150 Saudi islands in the waters of the Arabian Gulf varying in their natures and the areas. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has paid a visit to the dreamy Jana Island which is being attached by the attention of the Saudi Wildlife Authority (SWA), thanks to the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. In that context, Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of Saudi Wildlife Commission stressed, in a statement to SPA that the Commission is keen on preserving the environmental wealth enjoyed by the Kingdom, by sea and land both in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf whether in their deep waterway that is full of diversity of unique marine and plant organisms, or on islands frequented by many organisms.
