Ibn Sina Institute for Human Sciences in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will organize under the auspices of the Vice President of the European Parliament an international symposium on respect for religions and religious symbols in the European Union in the city of Lille, France on June 7-8, 2014. The symposium comes in response to the call from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the enhancement of the principles of justice, humanity, values of tolerance in the world, and the Kingdom's continued emphasis on the importance of respect for religions and religious symbols and not to offending them. The symposium focuses on the initiatives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for co-existence, respect of religious symbols, the role of religion in promoting a culture of moderation , and common European respect for religions and religious symbols.
