The death toll rose to 25 Tuesday after a train accident in northern India, with several bodies recovered from mangled carriages overnight, police said, according to dpa. The Gorakhdham Express passenger train Monday rammed into a stationary freight train near a railway station in Uttar Pradesh state's Sant Kabirnagar district. Six coaches were derailed and many people trapped, district police chief Ratankant Panday said. Seventeen bodies were found Monday and another eight bodies were recovered overnight as rescue workers cut through the wreckage, Panday said. An estimated 105 people were injured.
