The President of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso has received Saudi Ambassador to Belgium Abdulrahman bin Suleiman Al-Ahmad, who presented to him a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Head of the Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the European Union and European Association for Atomic Energy. The ambassador conveyed during the meeting the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the President of the European Commission. Ambassador Al-Ahmad stressed the Kingdom's keenness on strengthening cooperation in various fields and the consolidation of friendly relations with the European Union due to the importance of the role being played by the European Union at the regional and international arenas. For his part, the President of the European Commission pointed to the strategic importance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia politically and economically, emphasizing its regional and international position, and wishing Ambassador Al-Ahmad all success in his missions.
