South Korean President Park Geun Hye nominated a new prime minister Thursday, nearly a month after the previous prime minister resigned in the wake of one of the country's worst maritime disasters, dpa reported. Ahn Dae Hee, 59, is a former Supreme Court judge, Yonhap News Agency reported, and is to attend a parliamentary confirmation hearing before taking up the post. Former prime minister Chung Hong Won resigned after criticism of the authorities' reaction to the sinking of the Sewol ferry on April 16, in which some 300 people were killed.
