Unknown gunmen killed a judge in northern Iraq on Sunday, police said. According to dpa, Abdelaziz Hussein and his bodyguard were shot dead in the northern city of Mosul. The motive for the crime was not clear. The attack came hours after a senior police official survived an assassination attempt unhurt near Mosul. A roadside bomb hit the convoy of Major-General Khaled Sultan, the chief of police in the province of Nineveh of which Mosul is the capital city.
