Prince Saud Al -Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the importance of the Arab League's decision that the Syrian National Coalition occupies Syria's seat at the Arab League and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sees the announcement of the Syrian regime to hold elections as an escalation by the Damascus regime undermining Arab and international efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully on the basis of agreement ( Geneva 1) aiming at forming a transitional authority with wide powers to enable it to maintain Syria's sovereignty, independence and national unity. His Excellency met this morning with the Crown Prince and the meeting was fraternal through sharing memories and talking about the close relationship between Algeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which started from the days of the war of independence in Algeria and continued until today. And I held today with His Excellency extensive discussions on bilateral relations between the two countries, ways of enhancing them in all fields, the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries, the works of Joint Saudi-Algerian Committee held its last meeting in Riyadh two months ago, and opening more prospects of joint cooperation in the service of the interests of the two countries and their two brotherly peoples.
