An Indian plane lost communication with ground control for 30 minutes over Germany in March after the pilots took off their headsets, a news report said Thursday. Jet Aiways flight 9W 117 from London to Mumbai did not respond to radio calls for the entire time it was over Germany on March 13, prompting a complaint from Berlin's civil aviation authority to its Indian counterpart. "German authorities panicked as it came close on the heels of the incident involving MH370," an Indian official told the Indian Express daily, referring to the Malaysia Airlines flight that went missing five days earlier. "Communication was lost over German airspace as the crew overlooked increasing the speaker volume after removing the headphones," a Jet Airways official was quoted as saying by the report. The pilots were suspended for two weeks, the company said. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered an investigation.
