More than 400 migrants issue distress call in Greek waters

Greece's coast guard on Monday rushed to rescue a
boatload of more than 400 migrants that issued a distress call in the
Mediterranean, north-east of the island of Crete, dpa reported.
Coast guard officials said they dispatched two vessels to rescue the
migrants who were reportedly on a 30-metre vessel. Two cargo ships
and a US warship were also in the area. The coast guard gave no
details about the nationalities of the migrants.
