A Pakistan journalist who frequently criticizes the Taliban has survived an attack that killed his driver and injured a security guard, police said on Saturday, according to dpa. Raza Rumi, of the private Express TV, was targeted in the eastern city of Lahore on Friday night by gunmen on two motorbikes, local police official Sultan Ali told dpa. "They shot several bullets but luckily he (Rumi) survived," Ali said. "His driver was killed and guard injured." Rumi often criticizes violence by the Taliban and other militants groups. Shortly after the attack he tweeted: "Was fired at near Raja Market. My driver is wounded. I was dreading this day." Pakistan is considered as a dangerous place for journalists. Mustafa Qadri, Amnesty International's official in Pakistan, told Dawn newspaper that the organization had documented at least three assassinations of journalists this year, while many others survived.
