The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states condemned today the Israeli systematic violations of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories. In his speech before Human Rights Council today, Jamal Al-Ghoneim, Kuwaiti ambassador to the United Nations, held Israel responsibility for displacement and torture suffered by the Palestinian people, including children. "The GCC states stress that expansion of Israeli settlements is a flagrant violation of international law and international law of human rights. Israel disregards the UN resolutions and undermines all peace efforts," he said, demanding the international community to take action and put pressure on Israel to comply with its international legal obligations. The Arab Group also condemned the continuation of Israeli settlement expansion in Palestine, calling upon the international community to halt the Israeli settlement activities.
