The agreement on cooperation program between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Public Department for Quality Control, Tests and Quarantine of China singed in Beijing today on the sidelines of the state visit of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to China, was highlighted. China's Vice President Li Yuanchao also attended the signing ceremony. The agreement, co-signed by Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabee'a, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Chi Shoping, President of the Department, on the Chinese side, aims at curbing the flow of imitated or forged consumer goods to the Saudi markets. To reach this end, a number of measures should be taken, the agreement states, citing putting merchants and factories in the two countries who happen to be involved in imitating or counterfeiting the products of their country or elsewhere on a black list to block their exportation to the other country, a black list of the laboratories and forged accreditation certificates contradicting the domestic regulations of any of the two countries, punishing the plaintiff importers and notifying the other party to punish manufacturers and exporters, exchanging information about the results of labs and donor authorities contradicting the domestic regulations and holding meetings between the two parties to follow up the implementation of the agreement's articles.
