The Arab Interior Ministers Council wrapped up its 31st ordinary conference in this Moroccan city of Marrakech this evening which was kicked off earlier today under the patronage of King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who is also the honorary president of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, led his country's delegation to the meeting. Morocco's Minister of Interior Mohammed Hasad, Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz and Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, the Secretary General of the council, each delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. A number of Arab interior ministers also addressed the meeting and tackled the issue of terrorism and concerted efforts to wipe it out. The meeting also discussed the Arab strategy for illegal usage of drugs, Arab security strategy, the Arab strategy for combating terrorism, and Arab strategy for civil protection. The conference was briefed on a number of reports on the gradual implementation of plans and strategies. The Council urged the countries who have not yet endorsed the five Arab agreements which were passed by the joint Arab interior and justice ministers councils meeting in Cairo on December 21 2010 to expedite measures to sign them. --More 00:20 LOCAL TIME 21:20 GMT تغريد
