Chairman of Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Arab countries and Head of Qatar's Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani confirmed that the GCC States are among the strongest economies in the world, despite the fact that oil is the main contributor and the component of their Gross Domestic Products (GDP). He said that the GCC States work to encourage taking advantage of investment opportunities in various sectors such as petrochemicals, financial services, real estate and industrial sectors. This came in a speech delivered today by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani at the opening of the 2nd GCC-Germany Investment and Business Forum in Berlin. For his part, the Saudi Ambassador to Germany Dr. Osama bin Abdulmajeed Shobokshi expressed thanks to the Secretariat of GCC Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry on organizing the forum, noting the importance of these forums in coming years to promote and develop bilateral relations between the GCC States and the Federal Republic of Germany.
