General including its close follow-up measures to ensure the implementation of the recommendations reached by the High-Profile Independent Committee on the Improvement of Joint Arab Cooperation. I do not forget to commend here the efforts made by Mr. Lakhdar Librahimi, the head of the committee. Ladies and Gentlemen, This meeting comes at a time when the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations, which started in early July of 2013, are approaching their end. We fear that the fate of this new round of talks, sponsored by the U.S., will be similar to that of the previous ones despite the full Palestinian cooperation with the efforts made by the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry due to the fact that such efforts have always been met with Israeli intransigence and arrogance. In addition to Israel's falling behind on its commitments to the peace process requirements, Israel has set up obstacle after obstacle thus leading to slimmer chances of success for the current negotiations. Among such obstacles are the ongoing construction of illegal settlements, the insistence on the Jewish identity of Israel as well as its non-stop oppressive measures stripping the Palestinian People of their basic rights. With regards to this issue, the Saudi stance is the same as the Arab one which stresses the fact that any outcome of the peace process negotiation must achieve fair and comprehensive peace for the Palestinians i.e. the restoration of their full rights in accordance with UN resolutions including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital. The Saudi position also utterly rejects Israel's plans to judaize Al-Quds as well as its grave practices against the Al Aqsa Mosque and its vicinity. Therefore, we call upon the international community to put an end to such practices that are detrimental to stability and peace. --More 19:09 LOCAL TIME 16:09 GMT تغريد
