International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) of the Muslim World League (MWL) carried out, during last years from 2009 to 2013, as many as of ( 970 ) artesian and shallow wells in (37) countries in Asia and Africa benefiting 253,131 people. This was disclosed by the IIRO acting Secretary General Ihsan bin Saleh Tayyib. Tayyib said that the organization managed to provide clean drinking water and irrigation for hundreds of thousands of people who were suffering from the crisis of water and its scarcity. He added that the countries that have benefited from these wells in Asia are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Jordan, the Philippines, India, Yemen, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kurdistan, Kashmir, and Lebanon. The African countries are Ethiopia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Senegal, Sudan, Somalia, Cameroon, Niger, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Chad, Tanzania, Gambia, Djibouti, Ghana, West Africa, Guinea Bissau, GuineaConakry, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania and Nigeria.
